Arsene Wenger has told Arsenal fans that captain Thierry Henry will not be sold this summer.

The taslismanic striker has been plagued by injuries this season, but he is still one of the most feared strikers in Europe and he has again been linked with a move to Barcelona.

Wenger says talk of Henry leaving is ‘imagination’ and has pledged to keep the 29-year-old at Emirates Stadium.

“It is more down to imagination than anything else, Thierry Henry will be here next year,” Wenger told the club’s official website.

Asked whether he could guarantee Henry would remain at the Emirates next season, he added: “Yes, of course.”
