Germany 1-0 Argentina

  • Gotze 113

Substitute Mario Gotze scores with a brilliant finish, controlling a cross from Andre Schurrle with his chest and volleying past Sergio Romero.

Extra time

Still goalless after 90 minutes. Sergio Aguero’s arrival for the second half didn’t help Argentina. Aside from a shot early in the half, Lionel Messi was subdued, placing a shot wide early in the half. Germany keeper Manuel Neuer could easily have been sent off his over-the-top challenge on Gonzalo Higuain, which left the striker bruised and he was subbed a few minutes later. Germany look exhausted, with Argentina not far behind.

Aguero on for Argentina

Sergio Aguero has replaced Ezequiel Lavezzi at the start of the second half. Argentina have moved to a 4-3-3 with Messi dropping deeper behind the striker, Higuain and Aguero.

20:00 BST

Late change to Germany line-up

Christoph Kramer replaces Sami Khedira in Germany’s midfield. Khedira has a calf problem, picked up in the warm-up.
