Stuttgart midfielder Hakan Yakin has agreed terms on a surprise loan move to Argentinian club Boca Juniors.

Yakin has made just one appearance so far this season and despite interest fromn clubs in Europe, has chosen to switch continents and join.

“We have been in negotiations for Yakin for 25 days more or less,” said Boca president, Mauricio Macri .

“Everything started when I met with Paolo Futre in Uruguay and he offered me the player because he knew that our coach was asking for a player for that position.

“The negotiations were not easy because we had to compete against teams like Atletico Madrid and Mallorca that were offering him a better personal contract.

“But he said that as he admired Diego Maradona and Juan Roman Riquelme he made the decision of accepting our offer.”
