Chelsea’s Dutch winger Boudewijn Zenden stated that he wants to he wants to quit Stamford Bridge, claimig the club are in a ‘stew’.

A run of three successive defeats, including last week’s UEFA Cup exit at the hands of little-known Norwegian club Viking Stavanger, has induced a sense of crisis at the club and Zenden wants away.

“Chelsea are in a stew,” bemoaned Zenden. “I want to change clubs.”

Zenden arrived at Chelsea from Barcelona in a œ7.5 million transfer in August 2001 but has made little impact since arriving in London.

With coach Claudio Ranieri believed to be under pressure to raise funds, the loss of Zenden would at least alleviate Chelsea’s dire financial situation.
