Zenit St Petersburg are adamant they will not sell striker Alexander Kerzhakov to Tottenham.

The 22-year-old Russian international scored 18 goals in the recently-completed Russian season, which saw Zenit finish fourth.

However, coach Vlastimil Petrzhela says the club has no interest in selling Kerzhakov.

“I don’t want them to leave us and I think that they will stay,” Petrzhela told Smena.

“But they have a huge amount of offers. For instance, English side Tottenham is highly interested in Alexander Kerzhakov and they are ready to pay a very big sum for him, fantastic money for Russia.

“But Kerzhakov still has the possibility of growing with us, he has not realised himself completely in Zenit.”
