Ajax striker Klass-Jan Huntelaar has confirmed he did not receive any concrete offers during the summer transfer window.
The prolific Dutch forward has been linked with a number of clubs from around Europe – including Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid, but no formal offer was made.
“No (I had no offers),” he revealed. “There was some interest and they were looking. But a real offer was not there.”
Asked if he would name who ‘they’ were, he replied: “I don’t talk about it.”
Huntelaar was speaking ahead of Ajax’s UEFA Cup meeting with Aston Villa.
He added: “You want to show yourself in every game. That is normal. It is nice to play in England, there is a good atmosphere.”
