Crewe have agreed to sell their England Under-21 striker Dean Ashton to Norwich.
The 21-year-old is the leading scorer in the Championship this season, scoring 17 league goals in the current campaign.
“The ball is in his court, and he might have even signed for them by the end of the day,” Crewe manager Dario Gradi told the club’s website.
Ashton has been linked with a number of Premiership clubs Aston Villa, Everton, Tottenham and Birmingham.
