Barcelona have dismissed reports that they have received an offer from Manchester United for their defender Carles Puyol.

The Spanish international has been a long-term target for the English champions, but owever, Barcelona have denied receiving any new approach for Puyol.

“There are two or three players in the group who are intransferable,” stated Barca vice-president Sandro Rosell.

“Puyol does not have a price.

“Manchester has not asked for him, neither at the beginning of season nor now. Neither.

“At the Fifa celebrations in London nobody came to us to request the price of the player.”

Puyol himself has mainatined he is happy to stay at the club.

Speaking of the recent rumours linking him with United, he added:

“It is normal that when a side goes out of the Champions League and they have lost the chance of winning the championship, that they looking for new purchases for the new season,’ he said.

“But I aim to continue playing in Barcelona and I want to end my career here.

“If a super offer arrived then it is up to the club to look at it, I will never take that decision.”
