Brondby have played down reports that Liverpool have made a bid for highly rated defender Daniel Agger.
The 20-year-old impressed observers last week when he figured in Denmark’s 4-1 humbling of England in Copenhagen.
His performance prompted speculation that Liverpool had enquired about his availability, but Brondy have confirmed that the European champions have not even enquired about the player.
“It’s wrong,” Brondby director Per Bjerregaard told Ritzau about reports of a Liverpool bid.
“They haven’t even enquired about him. The story has been taken out of thin air.
“It’s a typical example of a paper not having something serious but wanting to be able to ask questions.”
