Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas has agreed to extend his contract with Real Madrid until 2011.
“I’ve renewed my contract for another five years,” the 24-year-old told a news conference.
“It’s a very happy day for me and now I want to carry on winning things with Real Madrid.”
Casillas has been linked with a number of clubs, but he has always insisted he would rather stay at the Bernabeu.
“I’ve been saying that I wanted to stay here for the last 12 months,” he said.
“I’ve never thought of another club. I want to return the faith they have shown in me by winning trophies. I’m now going to be here until 2011 when I will be 30.”
