Celtic striker Henrik Larsson has suffered a double fracture of his jaw and is expected to be out for at least a month, missing several key Scottish Premier League encounters as well as both legs of their UEFA Cup tie with Stuttgart.

Larsson was injured during yesterday’s Scottish Premier League encounter with Livingston FC, after suffering a clash of heads with Gustave Bahoken.

After the match – which Celtic won 2-1 – manager Martin O’Neill said: “I really don’t know how bad it is at the moment. It’s a major blow to us because Henrik isa world-class player. He will be operated on tonight and I would hope that he will come back before the end of the season to be perfectly honest.

“Sometimes these operations go so well, and I’m only guessing, but I’m hoping that it is going to be weeks rather than months. But knowing Henrik – he came back from a broken leg and I think he will come back as quickly as possible,” he added.
