Auxerre boss Guy Roux has threatened to resign if the the club sells striker Djibril Cisse in the summer.

Gerard Houllier is planning to hold talks with Roux about Cisse anddefender Jean-Alain Boumsong, but the veteran Auxerre manager has warned Liverpool that the duo are both under contract.

‘I don’t want him (Cisse) to leave, and I would have to consider my own position if he does,’ Roux told the Mirror.

‘This is not the right time to be talking about transfers. There are contracts running, and they have to be respected.

‘I have heard the talk about Cisse – and Boumsong and Mexes – but they are contracted to this club, and I don’t want them to leave.

‘Cisse has a contract until 2007, and it has to be respected.

‘I know Gerard well, but that alters nothing.

‘It is not unusual for Auxerre players to be linked with moves abroad – it happens at the end of every season – but my feelings are clear.’
