Real Madrid have begun talks with coach Vicente Del Bosque about extending his contract at the Bernabeu.

Del Bosque’s current deal expires in June and Real are expected to offer him a two year extension as recognition of the job he has done since taking over at the club in 1999.

Real sportingdirector Jorge Valdano met with Del Bosque on Thursday to discuss a new deal.

Del Bosque replaced John Toshack in 1999, and has since established Real as Europe’s dominant club, leading them to two European Cup triumphs, one La Liga title, one European SuperCup, one Intercontinental Cup and the Spanish Super Cup.

This season, Real lead La Liga and have reached the Champions League semi-finals.
