Bayern Munich coach Ottmar Hitzfeld has revealed that he has received approaches from several English clubs about the possibility of managing in the Premier League.

Hitzfeld, who is expected to step down as Bayern coach at the end of the season, refused to disclose the identity of the clubs.

“There are people from England who have called me to find out about my status,” Hitzfeld told the Daily Express.

“But it is too early to comment on that now, it would be hypothetical.”

Among the clubs looking for a new coach are Premiership strugglers Tottenham, who sacked Glenn Hoddle earlier in the season.
