Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o has admitted he would love to play in The Premiership in the future.

The Cameroon international was linked with a move to Chelsea in the summer, despite a fruitful season with the Spanish champions.

The 24-year-old was rewarded for his efforts with a new extended contract, but the former Real Madrid and Mallorca forward has been impressed by the atmosphere at matches in England.

“Chelsea were looking at me and one day I would love to play in The Premiership – for the fans, not the money,” Eto’o told The Sun.

“They can be losing 4-0 and still be cheering. That more than anything would attract me to The Premiership.

“I played for Real Mallorca at Newcastle and Bolton.

“The atmosphere in St James’ Park was unbelievable and at Chelsea (last season), it was incredible.

“There is no comparison to English fans.”
