Cameroon striker Samuel Eto’o has hit out at FIFA president Sepp Blatter’s criticisms of his national team’s new kit.

The African Nations Cup holders are sporting an all-in-one lycra strip in this year’s tournament currently taking place in Tunisia and Blatter has once again condemned their moves.

The FIFA chief refused to let the Indomitable Lions wear their sleeveless shirts in the 2002 World Cup and also banned them from retiring the number 17 shirt worn by Marc Vivien Foe before his death last year.

Eto’o now believes that Cameroon are being singled out for rough treatment.

“FIFA seem to have a fixation with us,” he said.

“At the last World Cup there was the matter of the shirts without sleeves and the refereeing of (Spaniard) Lopez Nieto against Germany.

“Since then they did not authorise the Cameroon Football Association to retire the shirt of Foe when he died in a tournament, and now there is the unnecessary remarks over our new kit.

“They seem to want to stop our initiatives whatever they might be.

“Blatter is not a fashion designer as far as I know and he should not interfere in matters of professional design,” added Eto’o.
