The Football Association has finished interviewing contenders for the position of next England coach, but no decision has yet been made.

The FA’s nominations panel will next select their preferred successor to Sven-Goran Eriksson, before presenting it’s nomination to the FA board for appproval.

“All the people on the shortlist have now been interviewed and it is now a case for the nominations panel to determine the candidate they want – and they have not done so yet,” a senior FA source said.

“All the candidates interviewed very, very well and as a result it means the panel have a lot to consider.”

The nomination panel comprised FA chief executive Brian Barwick, FA chairman Geoff Thompson, international committee chairman Noel White, Premier League chairman Dave Richards, Arsenal vice chairman and FA board member David Dein and FA director of football development Sir Trevor Brooking.

Martin O’Neill and Middlesbrough manager Steve McClaren remain the bookmakers favourites, although Chalrton boss Alan Curbishley and Bolton manager Sam Allardyce were also interviewd for the post.
