Thomas Gravesen hopes to stay at Real Madrid, despite his former club Everton admitting they were interested in trying to sign him in January.

Everton manager David Moyes admitted he wanted to re-sign Gravesen, who joined Real in a £2.5m deal in January.

But Gravesen’s agent John Sivebaek told BBC Sport: “He has got three years left on his contract and has heard nothing from Madrid about these rumours.

“The problem is that Thomas is not playing at the moment, but Real have lots of games and I’m sure he will.”

Everton’s form has slumped since they sold Gravesen to Real last January.

Sivebaek added: “It all depends on what Real Madrid say about his situation, but we have not heard anything.

“It’s too soon for us to be talking about moving. It is in Madrid’s hands at the moment.”

Moyes said: “I would love to bring him back if it’s possible because he was very important for us.

“We have a deal which means we have first option to buy at the price Real Madrid paid for him.

“We will have to wait and see what happens, but it would be great to see Thomas back in an Everton shirt.”
