Thierry Henry has admitted that it was his love for Arsenal that prompted his decision to turn down the chance of a move to Barcelona.
The France international had beeen expected to join the European champions in the summer, but after much soul searching he opted to stay at Arsenal.
“Sincerely, it was difficult to say no,” Henry told El Mundo Deportivo.
“But my situation was influenced by my relationship with the supporters, the coach and my team-mates, and finished with my love for Arsenal.
“Because of these things I decided to continue with The Gunners.
“My decisions depend on my heart, although those things are always complicated.
“I am a person with feelings because it is easy to view if I am happy or not.
“Sometimes I would appear like I am exaggerated, but I prefer to be honest with all the world.”
