Inter maintained their remarkable unbeaten Serie A record after a 2-2 weekend home draw against Palermo.

The draw means that Roberto Mancini’s side require just one win to secure the Scudetto and with Inter travelling to second-placed Roma on Wednesday the title could be in the bad with six games to go.

Midfielder Luis Figo, who set up both Inter goals against Palermo, said: “I don’t like to celebrate beforehand, but we are close.”

Inter remain unbeaten after 31 games, having won 25 and drawn six. They lead Roma by 16 points with Lazio a further 9 points adrift in third. The battle for the fourth Champions League qualifying spot looks to be a straight fight between Milan and Palermo, with Carlo Ancelotti’s side currently holding a one-point advantage over the Sicilian outfit.
