Inter president Massimo Moratti says the club are likely totake up the option of signing Santago Solari from Real Madrid as part of the deal that took Ronaldo to Spain.

Ronaldo left Inte in the summer and a part of the deal, Inter were offered a choice of either Santago Solari or Steve McManaman, or if they preferred, a cash settlement. At the time, the club decided to wait until the transfer window before deciding which, if any, of the players, they wished to take.

“I think he (Solari) will be the one we take in the end,” Moratti said.

“I think he would strengthen the squad and be a useful player for our team.”

At the time of the Ronaldo deal, both Solari and McManaman, peripheral figures at the Bernabeu, expressed a preference for staying with Real.
