Jermaine Jenas has completed his £8m move from Newcastle to Spurs.

The 22-year-old was released from England duty to undergo a medical and guarantee the switch was completed before the transfer deadline.

Newcastle have been resigned to losing the midfielder since he admitted he was unhappy at St James’ Park.

Jenas complained that playing at Newcastle was like “living in a goldfish bowl.”

Newcastle Chairman Freddy Shepherd earlier confirmed a deal has been struck between the clubs.

“We have agreed a fee with Tottenham Hotspur for Jermaine Jenas and the player has travelled to London for a medical,” Shepherd told the club’s official website.
