German international goalkeeper Oliver Kahn has confirmed that he may continue representing his country beyond the 2006 World Cup finals.

Kahn, 36, had previously hinted that he would retire from international football after the 2006 finals, but is now having second thoughts.

“It is by no means certain that I will retire after the World Cup,” Kahn informed Kicker magazine.

“I will play in the finals and then see how I feel afterwards.”

Kahn is by no means certain to be an automatic starter at the World Cup, with coach Jurgen Klinsmann choosing to rotate him with Arsenal keeper Jens Lehmann in the run-up to the finals.
