Bayern Munich’s Oliver Kahn has told rival Jens Lehmann to quit Arsenal if he wants to salvage his international career.

The 38-year-old has not played for Arsenal since August after failing to reclaim the No.1 spot from Manuel Almunia.

Lehmann has hinted at a possible return to the Bundesliga in an attempt to to preserve his position as Germany’s keeper at next year’s Euro 2008 finals.

“Jens Lehmann’s services to the national team have been impeccable, but you can’t play in a European Championship when you are not in the team,” Khan told DSF.

“That’s why it would be best for him to go and play where he will be in the team.”

Wolfsburg coach Felix Magath has already indicated he would be interested in signing Lehmann in January.
