The agent of Paul Le Guen has dismissed reports linking the former Lyon coach with a move to Rangers.

Frederic Guerra was responding to speculation suggesting Le Guen had been identified as a possible successor to under-fire manager Alex McLeish.

“Paul will be staying with Canal Plus this season,” he declared, “he will not be going back into coaching until next season.

“We have other avenues to explore for the future, but Rangers is not on our radar,” he told the Sunday Herald.

“Put it this way, I couldn’t even name the Rangers chairman – I know what he looks like, but the point is Paul’s not going to Glasgow,” he added.
