Veteran defender Sinisa Mihajlovic is hoping to be offered a a new contract by Lazio.

The Serbia & Montenegro defender’s present deal at Stadio Olimpico expires in June, but att 35, Mihajlovic is hoipeful he has another year left in him.

“I held a couple of rounds of talks with the club’s management over a contract extension and it is left to put on paper all the things we agreed,” he said.

“I would like to play for Lazio for another season.”

“If something goes wrong, I might go to Qatar forÊa year or two,” he revealed. “I have heard some good things about playing prospects in that country.

“I know that some people are counting me to be over-age, but I am not giving up.

“I still enjoy playing and I don’t intend to stop doing it, although Lazio’s management have informed me that they would like to give me a role in the club after my retirement.”
