Milan have offered Jermaine Pennant the chance to move to San Siro on a free transfer next summer but have been told by Liverpool that they can forget about signing Daniel Agger this month.

Pennant has dropped down the pecking order at Anfield and has been offered a pre-contract by the Italian club. However, Rafael Benítez is determined to hold on to Agger despite the Danish defender stalling on a new deal with Liverpool.

Milan have not been the only side looking at Pennant, with Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Juventus all linked with the former Arsenal winger – but now he looks as if he could be bound for a move to the San Siro.

The Corriere Dello Sport claim that a deal could be announced by Milan this week.
