Crystal Palace are planning a double swoop for two of Inter’s South American players.

Iain Dowie is ready to pay £6m for Argentinian midfielder Kily Gonzalez and Uruguayan defender Gonzalo Sorondo.

Inter spokesman Paolo Vignano confirmed: “There has been telephone contact with Crystal Palace over Gonzalez and Sorondo.

“We expect there to be more contact after we have played our Champions League qualifying match on Tuesday.”

Gonzalez has been at the Olympic Games in Athens representing Argentina. He made 21 Serie A appearances for the Nerazzurri last season following his move from Valencia.

Sorondo joined Inter for the start of the 2001-2002 season in which he made 11 appearances, before spending much of last season on loan with Standard Liege in Belgium.
