Partizan Belgrade have denied agreeing a deal with Fiorentina for promising striker Stevan Jovetic.

The Montenegran international is one of the most highly-sought after teenagers in Europe and has been monitored by the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United and Manchester City.

However, reports from Italy claimed the 18-year-old Jovetic was on his way to Florence.

“It is true we have held talks with Fiorentina, but their offer was quite insignificant,” Partizan president Tomislav Karadzic confirmed.

“We have told them from the very start if they did not revise their offer there would be no further talks.

“We are in a bit of a delicate situation,” conceded Karadzic.

“But Jovetic will not leave until the end of the season, and we would like to try and keep him until the end of the year.”

Karadzic also revealed a team from Eastern Europe an ‘astonishing’ offer but Jovetic has no intention of going anywhere other than one of Europe’s top leagues.

“A club from Eastern Europe sent a quite astonishing offer, a kind that you just cannot reject, but Jovetic doesn’t want to continue his career in that part of the world and we will respect that,” he continued.

Jovetic himself remained largely quiet on his future but he did deny speaking to Fiorentina about a move.

“I cannot say anything as I have not spoken to my manager yet,” Jovetic said.
