Real Madrid coach Carlos Queiroz insists the Spanish title racehas a long way to run despite seeing his side open up an eight-point gap following Sunday’s 4-2 win over Celta Vigo.

Real came from behind on Sunday secure 4-2 home win over Celta, a result made alltjhe ore significant as their two closest rivals Valencia and Deportivo La Coruna both lost.

However, Queiroz has quickly moved to quash talk that the title is already won, claiming there is still much work to be done.

“This game (against Celta) was crucial for us, but despite the eight points we have on Valencia nothing has been decided,” he stated.

“We have ahead of us, in a very short space of time, very difficult games against Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Deportivo.

“One defeat can complicate things, although the gap is comfortable.”

“It was a difficult match.

“We did not start well, we made a lot of individual and collective errors.

“Celta took advantage of them well but in the second half everything changed.

“The team were much more compact and disciplined. We created opportunities and scored the goals we needed.”
