After seeing off Man City 2-0 Everton are now up to fourth in the Premiership and are BestPriced 10/11 to win the Outright Betting without the Big Four.

Real Madrid are interested in signing Lyon’s French international striker Karim Benzema, Marca has reported.

According to the report, Real see the 20-year-old striker as the long-term successor to Dutch forward Ruud Van Nistelrooy.

But Real “are going to come up against a serious problem. Lyon want to extend his contract to 2014 and underpin it with an ‘anti-Madrid’ clause (which would prevent him going for less than) around €100 million”, according to Marca.

Matters could be complicated by interest from several other top European sides, including Manchester United, whose coach Sir Alex Ferguson spoke enthusiastically about the forward, before and after United’s Champions League game against Lyon last week.
