Sergei Rebrov miserable spell at Tottenham could soon come to an end with the news that Fulham are preparing a bid for the Ukrainian’s services.

Jean Tigana’s side are in talks with Spurs over a possible œ3m move for the Ukraine international which could be tied up by the end of the week. Although the fee represents a significanton the £11m Tottenhamm paid for Rebrov, they will be grateful to receive anything for a player who has not played all season.

“I can confirm that Sergei Rebrov is one of two or three players we are looking at,” Fulham chief executive Bruce Langham told the EveningStandard newspaper.

“It is clear that we do not have a lot of money to spend and a loan deal from outside the Premiership would be the preferred option.

“But we are talking to Spurs about a deal for Rebrov and we will see what happens.”

Tigana is keen to sign a striker after seeing his side struggle to find the net in recent weeks.

“I am talking directly to chairman Daniel Levy and he appreciates that the situation cannot drag on any longer,” said Rebrov’s agent Sandor Varga.

“We have been patient and we understand that Spurs need to recoup some of the money they spent.

“Sergei would prefer to stay in London and Tigana has always liked him.”
