Ailing Serie A club Roma have confirmed that they have enteretd into negotiations with a group of Russian entrepreneurs with a view to selling the club.

The club’s parlous financial state has even threatened the Roma’s bid to obtain a UEFA licence next season.

Roma president Franco Sensi has now confirmed that talks are on-going.

‘The negotiation is sure, but it will be a long thing,’ confirmed Sensi.

‘DonÕt worry, if they arrive, I’ll still be here.

‘If the Russians arrive, I’ll stay on as honorary president.’

The club’s board of directors are set to meet on Friday, where Sensi is reportedly ready to offer the some of his own personal fortune in a bid to stabilise the club’s precarious finances.
