Despite persistent denials from his agent, Ronaldo continues to be linked with a return to Internazionale.

The Real Madrid striker left Inter after the 2002 World Cup, claiming he did not see eye to eye with then-coach Hector Cuper. However, with Cuper no longer at the club and with Christian Vieiri expected to leave at the end of the season, there is growing speculation that Ronaldo will retrun to the San Siro.

“At this moment Ronaldo is concentrating on Real, insisted the player’s spokesman Rodrigo Paiva.

“He wants to end the season with something special and he will only consider the future when La Liga and the Champions League are over. “Chelsea or Inter? His contract with Real Madrid is until 2006.”

Meanwhile, Inter coach Alberto Zaccheroni has insisted that there is no move for Ronaldo.

“We have spent five-months talking about the transfer market and now it is closed, said Zaccheroni.

“Even if it opened we would be looking for a defender.

“Our focus now is on the pitch and winning the matches we have left.”
