Spain manager Inaki Saez has offered his resignation to the RFEF (Spanish Football Federation) who are expected to confirm his departure as national team boss later today.

Despite confirming on Tuesday that he was planning to carry on in his post, the Basque coach has now changed his mind and handedin his resignation.

The public response to Spain’s exit at the group stage, is understood to have influenced his decision to quit.

The RFEF have called an ‘extraordinary’ meeting today where they are expected to confirm Saez’s departure.

Veteran Mallorca boss Luis Aragones has been tipped to replace Saez.
