Santos have reportedly offered a new deal to striker Neymar in an attempt to fend off interest from Chelsea.
Chelsea have already had a bid rejected for the Brazilian and it was reported on Wednesday that they would be making a final offer of £25 million for the 18-year-old.
Santos president Alvaro Luis De Oliveira was quoted as saying: “We have offered the boy a new contract – here you can earn a lot as a true idol in Brazil.
“I hope that before the weekend his agent will give us a definitive answer but we are not pressing. I do not know what will happen – the decision is in Neymar’s hands now.”
Neymar has already been advised by Brazil coach Mano Menezes, that he should remain with Santos at this stage of his career.
