Suspended FIFA executive committee member Reynald Temarii says he has “no doubt” he will be cleared of corruption charges and allowed to vote for the 2018 and 2022 World Cup hosts.
Temarii told AP> he’s confident FIFA’s ethics committee will revoke his suspension when he provides evidence that the Sunday Times newspaper “fabricated false evidence” against him.
Temarii, who is the Oceania region’s president, says the newspaper edited video of interviews with undercover reporters to suggest he’d sell his votes to fund a football academy.
Temarii says he’ll confirm his integrity using the full 98-minute video. He says he’s suing the newspaper in London.
