New Wales coach, John Toshack, has named former Liverpool manager Roy Evans as one of his assistants.

Toshack’s former no.2 at Real Sociedad, Salva Iriarte, has also joined his backroom team.

Evans, who managed Liverpool from 1994-98, was part of the coaching staff at Anfield when Toshack was a player there in the 1970s. However, he has not had a coaching job since leaving Swindon Town FC three years ago.

Iriarte, meanwhile, has worked with Toshack in three separate spells at Real Sociedad.
