Roma captain Francesco Totti believes this season’s Serie A title race is much more competitive than last year when Inter romped away with the Scudetto.
“This season is more exciting than a year ago,” Totti told Sky TV.
“In 2007 Inter killed the championship, now we want to go all the way in the Champions League and claw back points in the championship. I believe we can.”
The Milanese club are six points clear, but Totti believes that Roma’s victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League could help his side to catch Inter in the title race.
“After beating Real home and away we showed that we’re one of the best teams in Europe,” said Totti.
“We’ll try to win everything, knowing that we will play some tough teams. We don’t want to stop.”
