David Trezeguet has been ruled out of Juventus’ Champions League quarter-final second leg at Barcelona after failing to recover in time from a shoulder injury.

Juve coach Marcello Lippi was hopeful that the French international striker would be fit to face Barcelona in tonnight”s second leg, but Trezeguet has failed to respond to treatrment. .

His place in attack is expected to be taken by Marco Di Vaio, who partnered Alessandro Del Piero in the 2-1 win over Roma on Saturday.

The tie is finely poised following a 1-1 draw in the first leg at the Stadio del Alpi.
