PSV Eindhoven midfielder Marc van Bommel has admitted that he is tempted by the prospect of a move to Bundesliga club Schalke.

Van Bommel has a contract in Eindhoven until 2005 but his club are reportedly ready to get rid of him for financial reasons.

“The club attracts me,” van Bommel told Kicker magazine on Thursday.

“They are genuinely ambitious and have shown that with their latest transfers.” A

Schalke have already signed Bremen pair Ailton and Mladen Krstajic for next season along with Stuttgart’s Brazilian defender Marcelo Bordon.
