Paulo Wanchope is eager to join Malaga before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

“It would enchant me to go to play with Malaga,” he told his official website.

“I would agree to join this club as it is a competitive team that plays in one of the best leagues in the world.

“It is the fourth time that Malaga have tried to contract me and that situation fills me with pride.

“For me, I would like to go to play with Malaga but the leaders of both clubs would have to reach an agreement. (My contract ends) in the month of June next year, but I could sign a pre-contract with another club in December, 2004.”

The Spanish club’s president Serafin Roldan is hoping to persuade City to cash in on the forward on the striker.

“It is going to be difficult but we’ll see if we can finalise it tomorrow,” Roldan said on Monday.
