Canada have ended months of speculation by naming Frank Yallop their new coach.

Former Canadian international, Yallop won 52 caps for his country while playing for Ipswich.

Yallop then switched to management, having success with the San Jose Earthquakes, winning two MLS championships in three years.

He has signed a three-year contract with the aim of bringing the nation into a footballing force. Canada are currently 87th in the FIFA wold rankings.

Yallop replaces Holger Osieck, who resigned in September.
