Everton are in talks with Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund over a move for midfielder South African international Steven Pienaar.
The deal would involve an initial one year-loan with a view to a permanent move at the end of the season.
“Everton have contacted us and we are currently talking to the English club,” Dortmund director of sport Michael Zorc told Ruhr Nachrichten.
Pienaar, 25, joined Borussia from Ajax last summer and was seen as a replacement for Tomas Rosicky, but he failed to make much of an impact during his first season in Germany.
