A Zinedine Zidane penalty gave Wanderley Luxembergo a win in his first match as coach of Real Madrid in their rearranged fixture with Real Sociedad.

The two sides played the final five minutes of a league game which was suspended in December due to a bomb scare at El Santiago Bernabeu.

The game was halted with the score at 1-1 after Nihat Kahveci had equalised a Ronaldo goal.

Sociedad’s Mikel Labaka was adjudged to have fouled Ronaldo after the Brazilian went past him and a penalty was awarded.

Zidane stepped up to convert the penalty to take Real joint second in La Primera, level with Valencia, but still ten points behind arch rivals Barcelona.
