Roma have suffered a setback with the news that Francesco Totti will miss the start of the new season due to a knee injury.
Totti picked up the injury during a training session as the club prepared for their latest match on their USA tour against Liverpool.
The Italian international has flown back to Rome for tests to determine whether he will require an operation.
Totti remains hopeful that he will be back in action soon.
“I’m upset. Anyway it seems it is not a serious thing and even if I need surgery I’ll have an absence of about a month,” said Totti.
