Chelsea react to Terry's statement, could there be a twist?

Chelsea have reacted to the bombshell John Terry dropped after the FA Cup victory last night.

Terry extraordinarily said that he would be leaving Stamford Bridge at the end of the season and that Chelsea would not be renewing his current deal.

Chelsea reacted this morning and a club’s spokesman said:

“John requested a meeting with the club the week before last and, in that meeting, he asked about the possibility of an extension to his existing contract,

“John was advised that, while no new deal was currently on the table, that situation could change in the coming months.

“The club has the utmost respect for John and everything he has helped us achieve to date. He is a fantastic servant to Chelsea and a superb captain. As such, the club will keep the channels of dialogue open.”

Terry said to the press that it was unlikely he would be retiring at the club he supported and came through the youth ranks.

He revealed openly: “It’s not going to be a fairytale ending, I’m not going to retire at Chelsea,”

“I was in last week before the Arsenal game and it’s not going to be extended.

“They said that, when the new manager comes in, things might change but it’s a ‘no’ at the minute. I needed to know now, like I have done every January and sometimes it takes a couple of months to get done.”

Terry elaborated and said that it was likely he would be plying his trade elsewhere but would always give his all for Chelsea for the remainder of the season:

“Unfortunately it was a ‘no’. I’m going to be playing out my career elsewhere, which it took me a couple of days to get over.

“But, like I say, I knew before the Arsenal game and my performance isn’t going to change: the way I train, what I give for the club. I want to give everything and finish on a high, on 100% good terms with the club.”

Should Terry leave, it will see the end of a glorious era for a group of players that were so vital to the club’s success spanning over 10 years.

Mourinho’s “untouchables” have left Chelsea, and if Terry does depart it will mark the end of a hugly successful period and the club will look to embark on a new chapter without their captain.

When you have many children, not all your love and attention can be with a single one over the rest. That’s precisely what was happening in Chelsea over the last years. The over protection of a normal player over the rest, without any exceptional quality not possessed by the other. By decree Mourinho declared useless and lack of quality to Juan Mata and David Luis, getting Chelsea the highest amount of money for both selling. Hardly believable others are going to be nuts in buying them. But all that reinstate Terry to the first team. We have to remember Champions League and Europa League winners on the pitch not using Photoshop were precisely Cahill, Ivanovich, David Luis and Juan Mata.

I see no reason to prefer Terry on the pitch to Cahill or Ivanovich which for years was forced to play not as central defender but in the right of the defense. I can say two of the lions behind Chelsea success were precisely Cahill and Ivanovich, Both delivered such energy and desire game after game incredible!

For the coming years moving Ivanovich to his original central defender position playing alongside Cahill as Chelsea rock solid central defense is the logical solution. They both are faster than Terry , better on one-on-one and strong as a rock and two of the best headers in football.

Kurt Zouma is a blessing for Chelsea, young, strong as Ivanovich, faster as Cahill. He is the the first team joker, that can play in any of six positions as needed. I will say first in line to replace any of 6, Azpilcueta on the right [not left], to Baba Ramahn [real left winger habilities], Matic, Mikel, Cahill, Ivanovich. I say Zouma is first team and has to be always on the pitch but joker position while young just as Ivanovich did extraordinarily for so many years.

If we insist in loving only one children we will lose on Cahill, Ivanovich, Azpilcueta, Baba Ramahn all playing out of position or not playing at all. Crazyness imposed by Mourinho.

As you can see in my picture there is no Terry. As the new manager will sign 3 year contract, why on earth is he going to teach his strategies and form a team for years to come over Terry?

By the contrary, it will be a burden all the self paid banners and yellow press making the captain, legend drama.
