Newcastle are reported to have agreed a deal to sign Deportivo La Coruna striker Xisco.
Deportivo claim that they have accepted a £5.7million fee with Newcastle for the Spain Under-21 international.
Depor coach Miguel Angel Lotina confirmed that Newcastle had made an offer for Xisco.
“Today I was told that there are a lot of possibilities that he will go to Newcastle,” Lotina told radio station Onda Cero.
“He is an important player but the offer which Newcastle made must also have been important.
“Moreover, he has only two years left on his contract and it is obvious that if he doesn’t renew, he’ll go.
“I don’t have confirmation that it has been done, but an offer exists.”
