Jacques Lambert has quit as a French Football Federation director to take up a new role helping UEFA organize the 2016 European Championship in France.
The FFF said in a statement that Lambert’s five-year spell was over and he would start his new role early next year, adding that UEFA President Michel Platini specifically requested Lambert take the job.
Lambert played a key role in helping France win the right to host Euro 2016. He also headed the organizing committee for the 1998 World Cup in France.
