San Lorenzo striker Alberto Acosta has decided to retire from the club after scoring his 300th goal for them.

Acosta, 37, scored a penalty in his side’s 4-1 win against Velez Sarsfield.

“I never imagined that my last match was going to be like this. I get retired with a goal and a victory, it’s something really spectacular,” he said.

“For the penalty-kick I was really nervous. Thank God I could score it and it was goal number 300,” he added.

Acosta now plans to spend some time with his family.
